To Messrs Bean (Captain) and Turner, the young fellows owe a debt of great gratitude for the time and labour they have given to the work to make tfiem proficient. During the evening songs, and musical items were given by several ladies and gentlemen. - Mr Hastings Jjraddell, who lias been chief reporter on the Stratford Evening Post for the past two years, has been appointed editor of the Waikato Times, and takes up duty at Hamilton in about a week's time. During his time in Stratford Mr Braddell has done good work for his proprietary and for tho district, and the Waikato people may rest assured that their interests will be well safeguarded by him. I hear tilv wish him success in his new sphere of labour. A daily coach service has been inaugurated between Kaponga and Stratford.

The horticultural show in connection with St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church will be held on Friday and Saturday. There wil'lt be a 'arge display, and the Show promises to be a great success.
