STRATFORD.
(From Out Own Correspondent.) Mr Percy inompson, lonnerly ol the National Bank of New Zealand, Stratford, but now of the lnvercargiU branch of that institution, accompanied by Mis Thompson (nee Miss Isabel kirkwood), left last week for his Southern home. Mr Thomp son has for some time past been in poor health, and his medical adviser ordered him to Rotorua, where he ana Mrs inompson Have been ioj the past two months. Both Mr and mis inompson were pnme iavouiites when in Stratford, and theii many friends will be pleased to learn that Mr Thompson has benefited greatly by his visit to Kotorua. On Friday morning, prior to their leaving for home, the Wanganui representative team waited on Mrs Lawless, of the Stratford Hotel, and presented her with a handsome silvermounted biscuit barrel and a silver mounted jam dish. Before leaving, the representatives gave three hearty cheers for Mr and Mrs Lawlss.
