INGLEWOOD
(From Our Own Correspondent.) On Thursday last a football match. Foresters v. Druids, was played on the local ground, ami resulted in a win for the former by Mto 12. The proceeds were in aid of band funds. In the evening the Town Band's annual ball look place. An excellent programme of some twenty dances was igonc through. I regret that the event was nut <|uile as well patronised as on previous occasions, but when the fad is taken into consideration that there have been some tweutyodd dances and balls held in Inglewoud and district this season, it was not altogether sur prising to find the attendance a little below the average as far as our band friends aro concerned. From tin dancers' point of view there was nothing to bo desired. That popular football fixture East v. West, takes place on Thursday next. The teams are to be captained by .Messrs B. H. Nicholls, sen., and E V ickers, and a very exciting game is anticipated. The proceeds aro to go towards the Band fund also. I hear that Miss Wilks, the popular teacher at the Dudley road school, has resigned her position, and intends severing her connection with the Xaranaki Education Board at an earlj date.
I expect challenges will soon be going the rounds from the local Bowling Club. The ground will soon be in orier, and a strong club has been formed.
The milk supply is increasing very rapidly, owing, no doubt, to the favourable weather which has brought the grass on so well. There has not been near the quantity of winter feed used this season as is usually necessary, many farmers having stacks untouched.
