THE CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING Per Press Association. CirnisTcHuncn, September 15. The Golf Championship Meeting closed to-day at the Shirley Links. A Bogey Foursome Handicap was played this morning, when A. P. Roberts and L. G. Cnpps (8) and D. S. and H C Smith (3) tied for first place with 3 up oae 1, ami the play-off „-,il ta k e plJe on the Duncdin links, the four players coming from that town. In the afternoon a Medal Handicap was played tbe best results being K. Duncan! Wellington (6) 72; S. K. sleigh. Chnstchnreh, (8) 78; Dr. Gow, Christchurch (<}) 73. The O'Rorte Vase was awarded to the Club team of four matlag the best gross score in tho Medal I Handicap, and was won by Wellington with 317. The others competing were Dunedin 357, Christohurch. Inconsequence of tlio ladios of the local club proceeding; to Wangunui next Saturday, the Mixed Forcsome ,ind Putting Match, arranged for that Jay, is postponed till Saturday, 6th October.
In tho semi-finals of the committeo'i trophy, W. JJewloy heat Alexander, and Scott beat Addenbroole; Bewlcy and Scott will play-off on Thursday afternoon nexi. Tho men will play a Teams Match on Saturday, 22nd inst. Teams to be chosen at 2 p.m. sharp. The Medal Kound on Saturday afternoon resulted j Studs and Armilage 102 IS $7 Morrison, and Brycss 99 10 89 Munnering and Alexander 101 6 95 14 others compel od.
