STRATFORD.
(Our Own Correspondent.) The Whangamomona Hotel has changed hands. Mr and Mrs Knuckey, who have made themselves so populai with the les.dents of Whangamomoma, having sold out to Mr and Mrs Deen, of K.tham, who are both well known in the Whangamomona dis tnct. Mr and Mrs Knuckey before leaving were the recipients of presentations, Mrs Knuckey with a silver tea pot and Mr Knuckey with a splendid travelling rug. Our City Fathers on Monday night engaged in the Borough Council Chambers until a late hour inquiring into a complaint made against the Borough Foreman by two of the employees. After a patient and judicious inquiry the action of the foreman in suspending the men was upheld, and after censuring them for disobedience to the orders of the foreman and for the language they used to him, the men were told that if they apologised to the foreman they would be reinstated; if not, the Boitough wou'd dispense with their services. I understand the latter alternative has been accepted by the supposed grieved ones.
