THE VICTORIAN BUDGET.
A SATISFACTORY STATEMENT. Beeeired 11,11.8 p.m. Mlißoraitg, September 11. Mr Beit, Premier of Victoria, delivered his Budget. The revenue was £7,804#», wkieh it £658,000 above the estimate, railway* contributing £3,775/)00. The eipenditn'e wa* £7,188,000, the year elosiog with a surplus of £676,529. It is estimated the current year, if railways are exeluded, will end with a deficit of £30,000, bat including the railway surplus, there will be a surplus of £4,343. Begarding the four mi'lion loan falling due in London in July, two and a-half millions is already assured. The Savings Bank Commissioners provide two million, the Metropolitan Board of Works-one hundred and sixty thousand, and the 'Government make up with redemption funds three hundred and forty .thousand. «
