URETI.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Two /Aims have changed lianas here tins last week. Mr A. G. Crawford having soid out to a Mr Johnston, of Dannerverke, and Mr 1". Hunter has soid out his share in his farm to Mr Mc Guinnes, cf Urenui. Mr Louis Hunter will cairy on the farm and Mr F. Hunter is short.y leaving Uiuti. He will be greatly missed as he has taken an active part in all local matters, and for the last si* months has been secretary of the Farmers Union, which position he has creditably filled and has assisted a good deal in livening up the union. Mr Crawford has also taken anactive part in local matters, being secretary of the sch..ol committee and one if t .e directors of the local Butter factory. I wish both gentlemen success in whatever their next undertaking may be. We have had a fresh addition to our settlers in the backblocks, A Mr Fletcher, from Fielding, having taken up a section on the May r.ad, and is to commence bushfelling at once Our local factory started on Monday, and is going to run every other day until a bigger supply of milk warrant! the every day run. At the present we have every indication of a very early spring. This we can safely do with without anyone finding fault with it. In fact, I have heard a few say that they would be satisfied if the fine weather lasted until Xmas, but I think a shower or two would do no harm between now and then.
The football social to be held here on the 12th of Sept should be a great success, as everyone seems greatly interested in it
