STRUCK A REEF.
PATE OF A BARQUE. Received 31, 5.5 p.m. Drosir, Auj,is 81. The fcn--ma»ted barque t'oltoto, bound from Antofagasta to Sydney, is ashore on the Mermaid Beef, five miles north of Manning Heads. She is in an exposed condition and a tremendous sea is raging. No details are to hand.

A wire to-night reports that the Hakoto is safe, anchored a mile from the end of the reef in ten fathoms of water. Tugs have been despatched from Newcastle to tow her out. The Captain states that after a succession of three days' gales, he found himself in the vicinity of the reef. The weather was thick and hazy, and a mountainous sea was running. Realising he was getting in too close proximity to land, he dropped the anchors.
