(From Our Own Correspondent. ) The first of the fortnightly sales conducted by Newton King was held to-day. There was a very fair attendance, but not a very large entry of cattle, as many of the settlers were unaware that the fortnightly sales had commenced. Mr Cottier wielded the hammer very ably in the absence of Mr S. Shaw .
