NAUTICAL COURT VERDICT.
FIB PBESB ASSOt'IiTIOK. ArcKLAXD. August 23. The finding of the itfautical Court in'/O the wrecks of the Sir Henry, A jtea and Uaeremai, states that each veisel was in & seaworthy condition, _, --folly eqnpped and manned. The evidence does not establish that the Teasels were overloaded, but it appeared that portion of the cargo wa> atowed on deck, and as far as the evidence 'discloses, neither masters nor owners had a permit to carry deck cargo as required by the Act. With respect to this, the Court makes the following observation: The provisions of the Act relating to deck cargoes' regulations relating to overloading should be rigidly enforced; that in a port such as Auckland, with its large fleet of (cows and small craft, it i« necessary that competent and reliable officers be appointed whose duty -it would be to see that the provisions of the Acts and regulations are complied with.
