PETROLEUM.
The Taranaki Oil and Freehold Company are now advertising the last three days prior to the closing of thei* share list, fixed for Saturday, the 26th inßt. The approaching allotment has greatly stimulated the local demand for shares, and amongst the numerous applicants are the names of many of the original shareholders of the Moturoa Petroleum Company, who bought at £5 and were afterwards able to sell at £62. It i$ the intention of the Direo« tors to commence boring operations a), most immediately after shares, and from the strong indications on the property upon which it is proposed to bore, great confidence wtfelt in the success of the venture. The share list is definitely closing on Satflfr 1 day, the 25th inst. V
