URUTI.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) Sincere regret was expressed on all sides, when it became known that Mr Amoore, the popular blacksmith at Urcnui, had to go under an operation in the hospital and have his leg taken off above the knee. We are all, however, glad to hear that he is progressing favourably. Al old friends will sympathise with him for so serious a loss. Mr Amoore has built up a strong business at Urenui, and by his courtesy and strict attendance to business has made many friends, and now to be crippled for life through a slight accident is one of fate's cruelties, 1 hope he will progress favourably and be among us again. Mr C. M. Rowe's tender for the butter cartage from the local factory to Waitara lias been accepted for a period of three years. This will suit Mr Rowe well, as his express goes in from Uruti practically empty twice a week, so without any extra expense in cartage he will have a back load each time. He may have to alter his days of coming to Uruti with stores, but that will be a small item. Mr Bayly has leased his farm and cows to Mr J. Young,, who is going to milk in here this season I hear that our local factci-v is to make a start on the ist of September, llus is much earlier than has been the case in previous years. Some of the suppliers will have some difficulty in getting to the factory, especially those up the Uruti road. I u.-.ulcl advocate one or two bad places being fascined.
