Mrs. Florcy, who met with a serious trap accident near Lopperton a few weeks ago, is now progressing satisfactorily towards recovery. Amongst the visitor- at the Q-iterion Hotel at present arc Messrs Mackay, Purser, Morpeth, Strantgen, Horsfall,' Montague, M'Donald, Stuart Alexander, E. Mynott; Mesdames Purser, Horsfall. Mr T. E. Y. Seddon will move the Address-in-Reply in the House of Representatives. The death occurred at Petone on Friday, says a press wire, of Mrs Emma Kirk, wife of the Rev Wm. Kirk, a retired Wesleyan minister. Mrs Kirk was the daughter of Rev John Hobbs, one of the first Wesleyan missionaries, and was Ijorn at the Bay of Islands in 1828. Mrs Gittos, wife of Rev W. Gtttos, and Mrs Garlick, wifo of Rev. J. Garlick, are her sisters. The Rev. Mr Kirk, who survives his wifo, is 80 years old. A cablegram received from Canton, China, yesterday, states that Dr Joseph Tngs died thero' suddenly yesterday frqm dyscntry. Dr Ings was married only a year ago, and went to Canton last December as Medical Missionary to the Canton Village Mission of the Presbyterian Chureh of Now Zealand.
