(From Our Own Correspondent.) Mr Tie Foster left here this morning by the mail train for Wellington, where ho will take up his duties at Parliament House. The Salisbury road school oommittee are getting up a concert and dance to be held in the school. They have a fine troupe of niggers, who are going to give the audience a treat. Mr Keightly has secured premises and intends opening up his grocery busmen on Saturday next. Ho has the summer before him and should get a fair share of the trade. The manager of tho dairy company (Mr Kleeman) has all tlio creameries concreted and finished off in tip-top style. He intends putting an engine in at Stanley road creamery, instead of the turbine separator. The company are haying a residence erected at Salisbury road for the manager of that creamery. The building will be finished in a few weeks. Mrs T. Vickers, of Salisbury road, who has boon seriously ill, is improving slowly. B It is rumoured that the Beaconsfield road saw-mill is abontcut out, and that they will finish up at the end of this month. Then tho owners intend moving the plant up the north of Auckland, where they have a large area of country to work on. The Radnor road sawmill has three years timber in front of them. They are getting logs from close to the Mountain Reserve. When this mill is cut ont, it will ond the chapter of sawmillj here. Mr and Mrs Husie, after spending a most enjoyable honeymoon here, left by the morning's mail train for south, lhey will on their return settle in Longburn, where Mr Husie will take up his duties as stationmaster, Mr 0. Andrews, of Pnlmorston North, is landing from the Old Country a very large vulcaniser. It will vulcanise six to eight motor tyres at one operation, and is the largest "of its kind m New Zealand, Mr R. Hill, who is overseer on the railway works, Toko, is moving his family to that town, arid intends selling his dwelling hero. August 17.
