CORRESPONDENCE.

RAILWAY CONVENIENCE.

TO TEE KDITOB. Sm,—The morning train on Saturday to New Plymouth is generally pretty well patronised by people .ill along the line as tar as Stratford, and anyone travelling l>y that train is certain to hear friends remarking upon the very short space of time given tlieni to do their shopping in town. The train gets to the New Plymouth station about 11 a.m., and people have to hurry through their shopping, luneh and visiting before 1p m. A visit to the dentists or doctors takes up all the time, and something is invariably forgotten in the hurry and rush to catch the train. Now, sir, would it not be i'i the interests of the tradesmen of New Plymouth if a later tram (say 5.30 p.m.) left on Saturdays, and would it not bo a great boon to the people who have no other means of reaching the town, and who desire to do business quietly and thoroughly with the tradesmen of the town? Would it not also be a good paying business for the railway, as I fancy hundreds of people, who do net, under present circumstances, think it worth their while to come to town, would be gl '.u to travel if given the opportunity of returning later?—! am, etc., Coiwiny.
