KORU.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) On Saturday a football match between Oakura and ICoru was played at Ivoru, and resulted in another win for ICoru. The game was most determinedly played from start to finish, although Oakura had the assistance of iataramaka and Omata.

The latter place was represented by Glyne's, Seamark ai d McCullam. The sawdusters proved equal to the occasion, and scored a well deserved win by six to nil.

Ihe ladies turned out in great force to witness the game, and their barracking awoke the echoes and was fiercely answered back from the barrackers on the other side.

The sawdustcrs entertained the Oakura team at a smoke concert- in the Koru Hall in the evening. Mr Raill presided. Songs were sung by Messrs Hill. Bndley, Morris, Maco, Raill and Duggan. a pleasant social evening terminating at 12 o'clock.

The next match betwoen Okato and Koru will bo played at Koru. The Koru residents being dissatisfied with tho treatment received from the Oakura School Committee, made representations to the Education Board. The governing body has declared ICoru a school district, An election of a school committee was held on Monday night, when Messrs Haxton, Watson, Johnson, Sweeting, and Pearson were appointed.

Great preparations arc being made for the ladies' ball, to bo held in the hall on Thursday night, when a large number are expected to assemble.
