RUA, THE "PROPHET."
Per Press Association. Gishorne, August 8. Tho natives are becoming concerned about tho continued presence in this district of Rui and his followers, and a strongly worded telegram was sent to tho Native Minister last night by ono of the local chiefs urging his removal. The Minister has replied through Judge Edger that the Maori Council has power over tho "prophet." It is understood that tho Hon. Mr Carroll has telegraphed to a leading Bay of Plenty chief, asking him to get the "prophet" to return.
