SHOOTING MATCH.

A £IOO match was held on Thursday unlcr the auspices of the Eltham Gun Gltib, the first and second prizes' being divided by Whittle, of New Plymouth, and McDonald, of Wanganui, who killed 13 birds each out of 11, dividing i'St) between them. A. Lucena (Stratford), Buekman (Waverley), and L Bailey (Wanganui) divided £2O for third prize, with 12 kills each. There were 18 acceptors, and there will be a small credit balance resulting to the club. Whittle killed his 13 birds with one barrel, whilst his fourteenth fell .just over the boundary. The shooting all round was excellent. One of the competitors (L. McKellow) has competed successfully in London and Monte Carlo, but was unable to win on Thursday. All competitors were loud I in their praises of the management of the match. Three sweepstakes were aftervrards fired for.
