SIR JOSEPH WARD.

WELCOMED iIiJIIE. (Per Press Association.) Wellington', August I. Sir Joseph Ward returned to Wellington last evening, and met with a very cordial reception. At the stations all along the line from Xew Plymouth he had been heartily welcomed, receiving addresses of welcome at several. There was a large crowd on the railway station at Wellington to meet him. and in rcsponc to calls for a speech, he (tare a short address expressing his pleasure at being back in New Zealand and his gratification at having been so warmly received. Sir Joseph attends a reception siren by the citizens tomorrow evening at the Town Uall, in his honor.
