At a meeting of tho Auckland Seddon Memorial general committee to-night, an executivo committee was appointed to oarry out the proposal to establish a Technical College as a memorial to the late Premier. It was resolved that tho memorial inoludo |tho erection of a statue, tho amount to be _ allocated for such statue to be deter, mined at a later date The Mayor, who was elected chairman of the committee, said ho thought for a National' Memorial, a fitting thing should be erected at Wellington, and that it ~ should be provided by the Government H out of the consolidated fund, thus leaving oach centre to provide local memorials. Mr Rosscr (Soeretary to Trades and Labour Council) said tho workers of this province are already taking the m.itter up very heartily.
