At St. Mary's Church, New Plymouth, on Thursday, Mr A. C. femall was married to Miss Gertrude Cock, youngest daughter of Mr H. Coek, of New Plymouth, Mr, Hawkins, ex-mombcr for Pahialua, was entertained at Pahiatua last I week, prior to his departure on a business trip to England. He announced that lie would contest the sent against all comers at the next election.
Mr Ulic Shannon, the well-known Wellington sporting scribe, luis beon appointed handicappor at the Exhibition Athletic Carnival to he held next January.
Mr G. W. Woods, Prcsidont of the New Zealand Athletic Union, arrived
in New Plymouth Eroni Invereargill on Saturday night. He went South to Eltliam and Wanganui this morning ion business m connection with the Union
