FATAL MINING ACCIDENT.

PES rUESS ASSOCIATION Wsswoiit, July 27. Alfred Archer, a single man, 80 years of age, working in the iron bridge section of the Westport Coal Company's Denniston colliery, was killed to-day by a fall of coal. It is believed that he was pushing a truck before him, and the truck fouled a prop, causing part of the roof to fall in. Ou ,he preceding day, Archer's brother had been injured in the same part of the mine; and he was uoable to proceed to work to-day, so Archer was alone when the accident happened.
