PEB PBESS ASSOCIATION Dunemn, July 26, A splendid start has been made with the fund initiated by the "Otago Daily Times " for a building required to house Dr. Hocken's library, and articles of historic value, generously ,'iven by him to the city of Dunedin. The editor of the " Times" received to-day donations amounting to over £IOOO.

Good progress is being made with tlie collection of funds for building n public Art Gallery, and £3,475 has been subscribed, including a grant by the City Council, To this has to bi added £2,400 taken up in debentures making a total of £5.875.
