THE RECREATION GROUNDS.
At the last meeting of the Recreation Grounds Board, there were present Messrs F. P. Corkill (chairman), 0. W. Govctt, W. L. Newman, 11. Ford, E. C. Hughes, and D. liutchcn, Tho SpoAs Committee met the Board in reference to the proposed alterations to the grounds, and submitted plans, which were approved. A committee, consisting of Messrs S. Percy-Smith, C. \Y. Govctt and W. Newman will visit the site of the proposed new entrance to the grounds from Gilbert street, and decided upon what tree planting is necessary. Tho Spoi'uS Committee asked for several amendments m eo mection with their agreeirent with tho Board, to which the floaru ag, ced. The amendments consisted of an addition to clause that " nothing in tins clause shall give anyono the rigK to use the grassed playing ground without Uie consent of the sports Committee. Clause Oreads: " Tae spons ground to be free to the public, except when sporti or other entertainments are being held." Tho Sports Committee was granted permission to erect on the top of the proposed fence in Fillis street a canvas advertising sheet, to bo used on the day of sports only.
