Mr Rudolf Broda, of the College of Psvchology, Paris, who is studying the religious and social conditions of Australasia, was a passenger from Wellington to New Plymouth yesterday, and went on to Auckland by steamor. Last night's Gazette publishes the appointment of Mr W. J. Culver, lato organising secretary to the New Zealand Liberal and Labor Federntion, to be au inspector under the Factories Act It is undertood that Mr Culver will bo stationed at Napier.
The numerous New Plymouth friends of Mr 0, M. Tunes, formerly sub-editor tliis journal, will be pleased to luvir Hull lie is now so fiir restored to health ■is lo lie able to resume liis journalistic duties. He was a passenger on Thursday night by tlio express train on route to tlie Auckland district, and will resume his old position on the "Waikato Times" at Hamilton.
