HENUI ROAD BOARD.
At the Henui Eoad Board's monthly meeting at Fitzroy on Monday night, there were present: Messrs L. Steele (e'liirman), W. H. Griffiths, J. Searle, and W. Outfield, A letter was road from the Eailway Department with reference to the Ronald street and Paynter's lane crossings on the deviated railway line, and the Chairman and Mr Cutfield were appointed to interview the District oagineer and ascertain the require, ments.
The Chairman was appointed to act with the Mayor of New Plymouth in endeavouring to secure the present railway route, from Watson stroot to Paynter's lane as a stock road. It was reported that ono of the footwalks was being badly out up by | tho carting of building material to a seotion.—The olerk will write to the builders on the matter.
Some discussion took placo with referenoe to the damage being caused to the Mangorei road by metal contractors carting heavy loads from the Wniwakaiho.—lt was deoided that the olerk communicate with the contractors with a View to stopping the heavy traffic during the winter months, The footpaths will be repaired at the first opportunity. Several accounts were passed for payment, and the meeting adjourned.
