SECOND DAY. 1 PEB PRE«? 3 ASSOCIATION*. VV F.LLINGTOS, July 14. Tbo Wellington Racing Club was again favored with line weather for the '•oneln ling day of its winter meeting. L'here was a large attendance, which included the Goyernor and party, l'he course, though duller than on the first day, was sonewhat sticky. An interesting arternoon's sport was provided. Irish appropriated the Steeple Handicap in tine style. Cuiragno had no difficulty in downing his field in the Final Hurdle Handicap. Superior horsemanship on the part of Jenkins enabled Maui to score a meritorious win in the Winter Oats Handicap. The amount put through the machine (including 11,556 on the double ■nachine) totalled L 10.121 as against L 11,313 for the corresponding dav if last year. The sum of 1/20,S"i; was put through the machine for the 'wo day- as compared with L 51,727 tor tie' winter meeting of last year. The winning combination, Steeplechase Irisln and Winter Oats (Maui), paid nit L 7 7 s for each one pound iuvested itesu'u :
