SHIPPING KNOCKED ABOUT. PEE PEBSS ASSOCIATION. Wellington, July 10. The steamer Tweeddale, which arrived from Newcastle last night, had a very rough passage across. During t'ie heavy weather one of the 'tween deck ports stove in, and the vessel took in a lot of water.

SMALL STEAMER DRIVEN j ASHORE. FEB PBEBB ASSOCIATION. Wellington, July 10. A heavy gale swept over Wellington to-day and seriously, incommoded shipping. Several vessels in the harbor dragged their anchors a considerable distance. . The little steamer Piako, which wps journeying fron. Blenheim, was thrown up on the beach nt Fitzroy Bay, near Pencarrow Head. The persons who were on board are safe at the lighthouse.
GALE IN THE NORTH. PEE PBESS ASSOCIATION. Auckland, July 10. A gale at Waiuku raged about 3 o olock to-day. Large trees wore uprooted. A carpenter's shop and ;s cowshed were unroofed, the iron and timber being carried a quarter nf a mile. Fences were levelled and no doubt considerable damage will be re ported la.er.
