EGMONT ROAD BOARD.
At the ordinary monthly meeting of the Egmont Road Board there were present: Messrs T. Howe (chairman), F. Salway, J. Martin, H. Martin, G. Davey. Notice was given to move at next meeting to strike and levy a general rate of }d in the £. J. J. Rogers, foreman, was granted an increased wage of 7s per day, and he was appointed a ranger to impound stock off the Board's roads. Tenders were received for forming and metalling Queen and Albert roads, 70 chains : Pikett and Wilkie, £llO ; F. and R. Parkin, £122 j J, H. Colesby, £496 ; Bayly and Sole, £S6H 19s; J.' C. Montefiore, £4,14 (accepted). Tenders were accepted: Patching Egmont road (from Mr James Hill's to Mr Bishop's), W. J. Smith, os 6d per cubic yard, and 6d extra for patching and spreading during winter months; carting 400 yards stone from crusher, Bayly and Sole, Is lid per yard.
Accounts were passed for payment amounting to £ll 16s on general account, £B3 3s on loan accounts, and £75 los 9d interest on loans.
