Received 8, 1.43 p.m. Losdos, July 8. The Government, in consequence of a memorial eigne 1 by three hunlred and forty-seven Commoners granted a day to disease Mr J, G. MacNeill's motion censuring Mr Justice Grantham's conduct in connection with the Yarmouth election petition. Mr Balfour depreciated the House of Commons becoming a Court of Appeal for election petitions. The Attorney-General and Sir H. C#mpbell-Bannerman deplored Ju<'g' Grantham's demeanour and judical indiscretions, bat argued that he was an honest and straightforward, though intemperate partisan. Mr MacNeill withdrew his motion. BTBEET BETTING SUPPRESSION. Received 6,10.57 a.m. Loxdox, July 8. Mr Herbert Gladstone, replying to a deputation of Bishops, promised facilities to pass the House of Lords for a Bill dealing with street betting.
