WHARF WORKERS' FEDERATION.
PEE PBSBS ASSOCIATION, WKtLuraTbtr, July 3. A conference of delegates represent, ing the Waterside Workers' Unions nf New Zealand opened in Wellington to day. It was resolved to affirm the desirability of forming a New Zealand Waterside Workers' Federation, and t) Jrecommend the soveral Wharf laborers', Stevedores' and Marine Üborers' Unions to affiliate. The nover snid there were nearly 3000 lien engaged on the wharves at hlVerent ports. Tho formation of a would simplify appeals to he Arbitration Court. It was decided o support Hie claim for granting statutory preference of employment to inionists.
