DOWIE EXPOSED.
RESULT OF INVESTIGATIONS. Melbodune, Juno 26. Elder McCullagh, of the Zionist Church, has received a letter from Voltva, Dowie's successor, in which he saysl have discovered during the first two or three weeks of my administration that Zion's total liabilities are 3,000,000d015,, and that the interest bill amounts to 1271d015. a day ; that 'here are 300,00D1015. in interest and dividends unpaid; that there are outstanding notes against Dowie to the extent ef 300,000dols.; that he had overdrawn his personal account to the extent of 540,000dols.; that the institutional bank account had been overdrawn 114,000d015. j that, notwithstanding that the income of the church was lOOOdols, a day, he had overdrawn the church account with the bank to the extent of 200,000dols."
Mrs Dowie paid 8000dols. for one bracelet. Their annual household expenses were 50,000d015. They had been squandering the people's money during the past three years. Dowie was alleged to be indiscreet in his associations with women, and was apparently preparing his way for polygamy.
