FATAL RAILWAY ACCIDENT.
PEE PBBBS ASSOCIATION. Nai'lEE. June 22. An accidont, which resulted fatally, occurred at Hastings this evening, just as the 5 p.m. train for Napier was leaving that place. An elderly man namod Wm. Tait attempted to get on the train while it was moving, and somehow got under the carriage, a portion of tho train going over his lower limbs, and crushing both legs [ below the knee. He was brought to Napior and admitted to tho hospital, where he died about 8.30 p.m.
