THE VACANT WESTLAND SEAT.
FEB FBESB ASSOCIATION. Wellington, Juno 22. The writ for tho Hokitika byeelection, to (ill the seat occupied by the kto Premier, will be issued at the beginning of next week. It is anticipated that tbe election will be fixed for Tuesday, July 10th. It is regarded as almost cortam that Mr Thomas Seddon, the late Premier's second son, will be nominated. Mr 11. L. Michel, Mayor of Hokitiku, has decided to stand against all comers.

FEB PBESB ASSOCIATION. Wellington, dune 22. In response to a requisition sent from Westland through the Hon. Mr HallJones to Mrs Seddon, asking that she would allow one of her sons to contest the seat so long held by the lato Premier, it is announced to-night that Mr T. Y. Seddon, Mrs Seddon's second son, will be a candidate. Mr T. Seddon is 22 years of age, and is a law student at Victoria College.
