CHINESE ATTACK ON EUROPEANS.

Received 22,12.47 a.m. Melbodbne, June 21. A cable has been received here from Amoy confirming the attack on Dr. Home, examiner, and Eadie, canvasser for the China Mutual Insurance Company at Tungan. Sixteen armed bandits attacked them and the fight lasted for an hour, l)r. Homo was stabbed in the lun;s, abdomen, and head, and Eadie received seven wounds. The Chinese sustained several casualties. Both the wouuded men are recovering.
