colonial marriages bill. THE EDUCATION BILL LIVELY WOMEN SUFFRAGISTS. Received 17, 4.50 p.m. London, June 16. The House of Lprds received and reports amendments to tho Colonial Marriages Bill. Lord Halsbury intimated they no longer opposed the Bill Mr Balfour, in an amendment, protests against tho guillotining of tile Education compartments, on the ground that it is unjust to unduly limit so important a discussion.

An uproar was created at a Liberal nioeting at Northampton. Woman suffragists from a balcony waved flags and shouted "votes for women." After a violent scuffle they were ejected. Et. Hon. H. H. Asquith then stated he feared the Government would bo compelled to droj) for tho present the second part of tho Education Bill though it was urgoutly needed in the interests of secondary schools.
The police prevented the suffragists from mobbing Mr Asquith when leaving tho building.
