THE MAORI PRETENDER.
FORBIDDDN MAORI VILLAGES,, PEE PBESS ASSOCIATION. Gisdokne, June 16. Native reports say that Rua, the Maori pretender, about whom sensational statements were recently made, is to visit Gisborne on Wednesday, accompanied by a couple of dozen followers. A number of Maoris, by advertisement in the newspapers, forbid Run or his followers to visit their villages, otherwise proceedings will be taken. The notice is under the Maori Council's Act.
