AN UNFORTUNATE INCIDENT.
BRITISH OFFICERS ATTACKED IN EGYPTIAN VILLAGE.
ONE .KILLED AND OTHERS INJURED. AN INQUIRY OPENED. Received 16,11.16 p.m. Caibo, June 15. While a body of British troops vu marching from Cairo to Alexandria live officers entered f village near Tantah to shoot pigeons. An official instigated the villagers to surround them with guns, and then assault them with bludgeons. Captain Bull o! the [nnislallings' succumbed to his injuries and two other officers are badly hurt.

The " Daily Mail's" Cairo correspondent states that villige notable* invited the efflcers to ha^ some pigeon shooting. The villagera interfered and tried to disarm the officers. A threshing floor at that moment happened to lake fire, the natives unjuitifulljr blaming and attacking the offloen.V Many arrests were made anl an inquiry has opened.
