MR LYTTELTON'S CANDIDATURE.

The Liberals have withdrawn their objection to the Hon. A. Lyttleton on the ground of the shortness of the interval before the election. Liberal Commoners largely signed a memorial supporting the Government's policy regarding the Transvaal, desiring that the Premier should not be harassed with regard to the Chinese ■question.
COMPENSATION FOB ACCIDENTS BILL. DANGEROUS PERFORMANCES ACT. Received 15, 9.40 p.m. Lokdoh, June 15. Mf Herbert G'adstone was again d;feated, owing to the Opposition declining to' exclude compensation fgr shoo assistants where the number employed did not exceed three. Owing to a parachutist's death, Mr Gladstone is introducing a Bill to extend the Dangerous Performances Act to all women.
