The oil well at Moturo.i continues to bo a source of interest to visitors. During tho last few days largo numbers hive been shown over tho works, •md many samples of oil have been taken.

Tho erection of the derrick on tlie Prison Reserve is now completed, and the boring michinc-ry is expected to be on the spot in a few days. A meeting of the Directors of the Moturoa Petroleum Company was held I yesterday, when matters of importance were considered.

It is proposod to re-open tho well at the foot of tho breakwater put down under the direction of Mr Samuel. Tlie work will be put in hand at an early date. A good quantity of oil was shipped away to Auckland at the beginning of tll3 week.
