EXHIBITION CHEAP FARES.
FEB IMIEBB ASSOCIATION. WEnujrOj, June 8. The following telegram was received to-day from Mr Seddon at Melbourne : Havo succeeded, with tho holp of tho Commissioners here, in obtaining from tho Union Company and Huddart Parker, proposals for reduction in fares in tho Sydney to Lyttelton, Melbourne to Lyttelton, and tho round four, Sydney, Melbourne and Cook Straits, and vico vorsa, of not less than twenty per cent, on present rates. I have agreed to inaction for the present, provided similar reductions are made to all parts of New Zealand during the time of tho Exhibition, so as to enable people to go t« all parts of the Colony at reduced rates during the Exhibition.
