OTAGO WINTER SHOW.
FEB FBEBB ASSOCIATION. Dtobdin, June 6. The Otago A. and P. Society's Winter Show was opened to day under favourable auspices. The weather was fine, and the. attendance large. Exhibits are quite ftp to the standard in quality, and more numerous than usual County exhibits are a feature of the show, although only three competed. Taieri carried off first honors with ,302 points, Waimate 270, and Waihemo 238. In butter most of the exhibits were from Canterbury, the Taieri tod Peninsula Company for iomo; reason standing aside. The South Canterbury Dairy Company, with 92 points, secured first position for three boxes of factory butter best suited for export. For the best two boxes from North Island factories, the Norsewood Dairy Company with 92 points were first, Cheltenham Company, 89J points, 2, and Cambridge Co-ope .itivc Dairy, 88 points, 3. The prize for grading points for the season was taken by the Cmterbury Central Co-operative Company 92-35 points, South Canterbury 92-23, Taitapu 9*03, Weymoath 91-33, Sefton 9113. In cheese Southland factories secured most of the first prizes. Wyndham beat Woodland by half a point for best S cwt. full cream cheddar (colored) suitable for export. Edendale beat Matanra foi' best 5 ewt. full cream cheddar (white). Mataura gamed first place by half a point over Wyndham i l best factory made cheese, white or coloured. Edendale secured three first places for best 5 cwt. sent direct to the show. Waikouaiti was a point and a half ahead of Utamitc for best case of factory made loaf cheese.
