London, May 29.

The R'ght Hon. J. Bryce (Chief Secretary for Ireland) has announced that he will make a grant for three years to teach the Irish language in the National Schools.

The Chief Secretary for Ireland (the Bight Hon. J. Bryce) Laborers of Ireland Bill, providing for four and a quarter million loan on land purchase terms, enabling county councils to erect 25.111 cottages, was read a first time. Towards the annual interest 622,300 will be derived from Irish sources, besides £35,000 from rent, and £28,000 annually from an Exchequer grant, leaving £23,000 to be borne by t'le rates.
