BOSTOCK AND WOMBWELL'S CIRCUS.
Tho " Otago Daily Times," speaking of Bostock and Wombwcll's circus, which played a highly successful season in Dunedin, and "has since successfully toured all the towns en route, says:—The opening performance of Bostock and Wombwell's circus was greeted by a bumper attendance, the large tent erected on the Southern Cricket Oval being vcjll filled in all parts. Though billed as a circus, it is scarcely what is understood by that term. There is an absenco of anything in the shape of equestrian feats, and horses are not introduced into the programme at all. This is, however, amply compensated for by a long list of novelties of an exceptionally clever description, not one of which c m be spoken of otherwise than in terms of the highest praise. Thcro is no arena, but a spaco is reserved in tho centre of the tent, and part of this is occupied by a stage, on which most of the performances are given. The manage, ment is admirable. The most wonderful part of a wonderful performance was, however, given by the Lukishama troupe of Japanese, six m number. Absolutely without fear, they, with marvellous dexterity and great neat, ness, do balancing, contort on, and acrobatic feats, which aro surprisingly cleyer. Tho whole performance is to be highly commended and resommendded lo intending patrons, who will find much to marvel at, and a great deal t) amuse. A visit to New Plymouth is anuounced to take place on Thursday and Friday next, when the vast 'enterprise will be brought along in its entirety.
