•Jenkins, Matthews and Pigott report : At Vrcnui ou Monday we hud a big yarding and nearly every line was sold cither at the hammer or privately. We quote : Ewes (in Jamb) 17s (id, calves 5s 6d, 18-months heifers 245, 18-months steers 32s to 32s (id, store cows 25s to 3l)s, cows and calves -llj.s, :f year steers .CI 3s to £4 12s, fat cows £3 2s 6d to £1 Bs, bulls 50s, horses £4 10s. At Waitni'a on Tuesday we had a fair entry of cattle and nearly 20Du sheep. A slight improvement in prices was noticeable. We had a consignment of pigs from Tongaporutu, which were keenly competed for. We quote : Pigs (barrows) 375, sows 355, porkers 17s to 20s, slips lis 9d, f.m. ewes 13s, store cows 24s to 37s (id, 18-month steers 31s, Jersey heifers £3 3s, fat. cows £2 l'Js (id to £3 ss, old cows 15s to 20s, bull 17s (kl, horses £lO 10s to £•l2 ss.
We sold Mr J. C. McArtney's house and quarter acre section in Queen Street, Waitara, to an Urcnui investor for £250.
