This match was played at Eltham on Saturday ; afternoon, and resulted in a win forthe visiting team by 3 points to nil. .Eltham started with three men short, and as a re.-ult, C. Thurston crossed the line anl scored for Patea within ( two minutes from the commencement of , the'game. 0. Burke took-the lick at .goal, but failed to add the major points'. For the winners Hammertoe was the most prominent amongst the forwards, and C. Sheehan and C. Thurston amongst the backs. For Eltham, May and McDonald played good forward games, and Dine and J. Moir played sterling games, the latter as full-back being right up to his best form, Mr A, Hunter acted as referee.
