The barque Piteairn Island, bound from Wellington to London, waj burnt at sea in latitude 52 south: longitude 90 west. The captain, an officer and ten of the crew landed at Port Waullin tUhili). The first officer and eight men in another boat are missing. Receded 20, 5 p.m. London, May 19.

It is estimated the insurances on the Piteairn Island amount tb £120,000.
