A special meoting was held on Friday oveumg. There was a good attendance, Mr W. Ambury presiding. Mr Praser pointed out that the working of Tarauaki ironsaud deposits depended on the working of Parapara. Mr Connett supported the motion. He considered that public meetings should be held to secure the deletion of the clause. It was a vital matter. There was a stroug element m Parliament, ho remarked, who wanted to nationalise everything. Tho four members in Taranaki might be asked to help the Chamber in this matter.

Mr Morrison said he had seen some boautiful iron producod from Parapara ores. Taranaki should adopt every possible means to have the irons and industry established. The motion was carried.

Mr M. Fraser moved, ''That His Worship the Mayor of Mew Plymouth be requested to call a public meeting at an early date, at whicn the four members representing Taranaki, and representative men from all parts of the p"ovince be invited to be present to consider the question of the elimination of Claus® li from the Parapara leases, which clause endangers the development of tho Taranaki ironsand industry."

Mr Arnold seconded, and the motion was carried unanimously. On the motion of Mr Goldwatcr, seconded by Mr Paton, it was decided to forward a copy of the previous resolution to each of the members for the Taranaki province, asking their assistance in getting a Bill passed when Parliament meets.
