EGMONT ROAD BOARD.
There was only a moderate attendance of ratepayers at the annual meeting of ratepayers in the Egmout Road Board district, on Saturday. Mr P. C. Morton presided, and announced the result of the recent election. Mr W. Bowe, chairman of the Board, then took the chair.
The balance-sheet for the year was submitted. The year opened with a credit of. #ll (Is 3d. General ratos collected were: 1900-0, Si'Ja lis 3d • IDOI-S, £lB 0s lid; previous yoars, 12s 3d; special rates £l2<i (is 8d; sundry revenue, £SO 10s; subsidy on rates, £Bl lis (id. There was in the bank at time of balance £l7l 5s lid unexpended on No, 7 loan account, and £l7 12s 10d balance, the total revenue being t Llll 18s i)d. The ex. pcnditure side of the account showed roa 'work had absorbed £ll7 4s 2d, printing and advertising £8 9s 4d, salary £2O, sundries £ll 2s lid, loan interest, £l6l .Is The statement of accounts was adopted, subject to the Government audit.
An inEuriual discussion took place on road matters generally, dissatisfaction being expressed with tlie manner in which Hie water-tables on the roads wore kept.
