A FAMINE FEARED. ROOSEVELT'S ATTITUDE CONDEMNED. New Yobk, May 7. There are only ten days' supplies in Frisco. The Citizens' Committee fear a famne, and declare that it is criminal to refuse outside aid. ' PAYMENT OF INSURANCE CLAIMS. PEg PBE9S ASSOCIATION. Auckland, May 8. The New Zealand Insurance Company has received a telegram from Loudon confirming that the British file offices mutually agreed to stand firmly upon their policy conditions and not to pay any losses outside such conditions. The company has already telegraphed instructions to its San Francisco manager to that effect.
